Prado to begin accepting housing applications

Newly built affordable housing development Prado Family Homes, located at 16790 S. Harbor Blvd., will begin accepting applications on Sept. 9.

The 50-unit complex has been designated for primarily extremely low- and very low-income families, with eight units set aside as permanent supportive housing (PSH) for veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness.

Prado will offer four floorplans--junior one bedroom, one bedroom, two bedrooms and three bedrooms--and a mid-century modern aesthetic. Each unit will feature a kitchen with quartz countertops, vinyl plank flooring, ceiling fans and spacious closets.

Communal amenities will include a barbecue and picnic area, playground, separate teen hangout area, a multipurpose room, and laundry facilities.

The application period will run through Oct. 11. Applications received after Oct. 11 will not be considered.
