Pins for Kids set for Aug. 7

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley and the Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club Foundation are teaming up once again to present the 13th Annual Pins for Kids Bowling Tournament.

The fundraising event is set for 11 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Boys & Girls Clubs' Kingston Branch near Mile Square Park.

Socially distant Wii Bowling stations will be set up at the Boys & Girls Clubs' Kingston Branch gymnasium. Also planned are an outdoor barbecue lunch and fun outdoor games for teams to enjoy. The event concludes with an online auction and a Zoom finale when prizes will be awarded for the best and worst teams, and for the team that raises the most funds.

There are several ways to get involved:

· Make a sponsorship and bowl in the Pins for Kids Wii Bowling Tournament on Aug. 7.

· Start a fundraising team or choose a fundraising team to support.

· Donate an item for the online auction.

· Bid in the online auction. Bidders can join in from their phone, tablet, or computer and pick up items they’ve won after the event.

· Join the livestream finale event on Zoom at 6 p.m. Aug. 7.

Sponsors of the event include: Alex A. Accetta CPA & Associates, John Bishop & Barbara Nieto, Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley Board of Directors, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Kiwanis Club of Fountain Valley, Pacific Premier Bank, Slater Investments, and Surf City Rotary Club of Huntington Beach.

By participating, you can help give thousands of children access to the Boys & Girls Clubs' award-winning programs, like after-school care, full-day programs during the summer, sports leagues and more. You’ll help support the Kiwanis Club’s charity projects, including Robyne’s Nest, the Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Orangewood Children’s Home, and support the clubs' efforts to mentor local high school students and provide college scholarships.
