City lauded for its financially prepared retirees

Fountain Valley has earned some high marks for being home to financially prepared retirees.

LendEDU, an online marketplace for a variety of financial products like credit cards and student loans, recently analyzed more than 20,000 U.S. cities that are home to financially prepared retirees as part of a study.

LendEDU, based in New Jersey, looked at retirement data from various sources, including the U.S. Census. To be considered for this ranking, a city had to have a minimum of 4,000 households with retirement income. Each city was ranked according to its average household income from retirement.

Fountain Valley ranked No. 212 nationally and No. 71 in California with an average household income from retirement figures of $30,789.00.

“Folks that have worked to make their money and invested it in their 401(k)s or other retirement accounts are the ones that will get to enjoy the fruits of their labor during retirement,” the LendEDU report noted.
