The first Democratic Club of West Orange County meeting of 2020 will feature legal scholar Jonathan Adler, who will give a presentation on the origins, precedents and legal implications of the impeachment process.
Adler, who earned his Juris Doctorate from Yale, has been a Los Angeles County deputy district attorney, has chaired an American Civil Liberties Union chapter, and has clerked for a California Supreme Court justice. He later argued before that court and served on its death penalty panel.
The meeting is set for Jan. 2 at Congregation B'nai Tzedek, 9669 Talbert Ave., Fountain Valley. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the program starting at 7 p.m. Members and nonmembers are invited to attend and bring questions. Refreshments will be served.
