Miss Fountain Valley scholarship pageant contestants sought

The Miss Fountain Valley Scholarship Pageant Committee is making plans for the 2020 competition, which is set for Dec. 1, 2019 in the Golden West College Mainstage Theater.

Young women interested in being contestants are invited to an orientation meeting at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at Coastal Community Fellowship Church, 10460 Slater Ave. (at Ward).

Candidates must be age 18 by July 31, 2020 and no older than 25 on Dec. 21, 2020. Contestants must live, work or go to school in Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach or Costa Mesa.

Areas of competition include talent, private interview, on-stage question, eveningwear and social impact statement. More than $10,000 in scholarships and prizes will be awarded. Practices begin Oct. 6.

The 2020 pageant is set for 6 p.m. in the Golden West College Mainstage Theater, 15751 Gothard St., Huntington Beach. Early bird tickets purchased between Oct. 1 and Nov. 15 are $10. Tickets are $15 if purchased between Nov. 16-20, and $20 at the door.
