Kelly Osborn Memorial fundraiser is Sept. 1

The 23rd annual Kelly Osborn Casino Bowling Memorial Fundraiser will be held Saturday, Sept. 1 at Fountain Bowl. This is a daylong event that begins with a golf tournament at David L. Baker Golf Course.

Kelly, the daughter of retired Fountain Bowl co-shareholder Dave Osborn, died in an automobile accident in July 1996, at the age of 19.

Dave Osborn started the Kelly Osborn Memorial Scholarship Fund for the purpose of granting college scholarships each year to one or more deserving students who might otherwise not be able to attend the higher educational institution of their choice.

The fundraiser starts with the “Ozzie’s Awesome” golf tournament in the morning at David L. Baker Golf Course. The best ball scramble tournament costs $90, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, admission to the fundraising casino bowling event, food, door prizes and an auction.

Cost for bowling only is $35 per individual. The bowling portion of the event begins at 6 p.m., but food will be available for participants starting at 4 p.m., and bowling check-in begins at 5 p.m.

This bowling event is usually a sellout. Anyone who has a group of 8-10 people can prepay for this event at the Fountain Bowl front desk to guarantee that the group bowls together.
