Rotary to salute Mimi’s Jewelry’s David Truong

Co-owner of Mimi’s Jewelry with his mom, Mimi, David will be recognized for his giving to the community when the Fountain Valley Rotary Club presents him with the Ed Arnold Volunteer of the Year Award.

David will be honored at a gala on Oct. 13 at Mile Square Golf Course. A business leader in the city, David is also an active volunteer, serving on the Fountain Valley Schools Foundation and the Orange Coast Memorial Hospital Community Oversight Committee. He is also a member of the Fountain Valley Living Magazine advisory council.

The Ed Arnold Volunteer of the Year Award is named after longtime resident and former sportscaster Ed Arnold—who was the award recipient at the inaugural event. In 2015, the Fountain Valley Rotary Club formed the FV Rotary Charitable Association to enable the Rotary Club to raise funds for the myriad projects the club performs each year.

Rotary’s local activities include the Most Improved Student Awards, Every Student Succeeding Breakfast, Teacher of the Year Breakfast as well as donations to the FV Police Explorers program, Robyn’s Nest, Los Amigos High School and to literacy programs in the Fountain Valley School District.

This year’s gala starts at 6 p.m. and includes dinner, silent auction and the awarding of scholarships to youth volunteers. Individual tickets are $75.
