Body found on jogging trail near Mile Square Park

The body of a 24-year-old man was found on a jogging trail along Brookhurst Street north of Warner Avenue today, Fountain Valley Police reported.

The body was found shortly before 1 p.m. Police said the man was wearing jogging attire and was found on the grass just off the trail. Police believe he had been running along the exterior of Mile Square Park and appeared to have collapsed during his run.

Police said the man was from San Diego and had been visiting a friend in the Fountain Valley area.

The death does not appear to be suspicious at this time, police said. The Orange County Coroner’s Office responded and took over the investigation. The man's name has not been released pending notification to next of kin.
