The city is now seeking nominations for its annual Business Beautification Awards.
The Beautification Award Program is designed to recognize Fountain Valley business owners whose properties reflect pride of ownership and commitment to the beautification of the city, thereby contributing in a positive manner to the overall appearance of the City of Fountain Valley.
Awards will be given in two categories: The first category is for businesses that have made substantial improvements to the exterior of their buildings and/or landscaping in the last year.
The second category is for businesses that consistently maintain their properties in an attractive and well-kept manner.
To nominate a property, complete and submit a 2016 Business Beautification Award nomination form by Dec. 15. Nomination forms can be obtained online at www.fountainvalley.org, or by writing to the city, c/o Business Beautification Committee, 10200 Slater Ave., Fountain Valley, CA 92708. Forms are also available at the Chamber of Commerce.
Winners will be chosen at the Beautification Committee meeting on Jan.11, 2017 and honored on Feb. 28, 2017 at the Chamber of Commerce Business and Leadership Awards Luncheon.
Winners will receive an engraved plaque and a banner to display.
The Business Beautification Award Program was adopted by the Fountain Valley City Council in April 2015. On an annual basis, the Beautification Committee, consisting of two Planning Commission members and the planning director select two winners to receive the city Business Beautification Award. Nominations are open to the public and all nominated properties are considered.
