OC Memorial opens Center for Spine Health
Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center has announced the opening of its Center for Spine Health.
“Our center is staffed by a highly experienced team of spine health experts who are dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive and advanced treatment options,” said medical center CEO Marcia Manker.
Spearheaded by Dr. Medhat Mikhael, a board-certified pain management specialist and medical director of the non-operative program, and Dr. Barry Ceverha, a board-certified neurosurgeon and medical director of the operative program, the Center for Spine Health offers a multidisciplinary team that works together to provide non-operative, minimally invasive and surgical treatment options for patients.
“Our team will utilize a comprehensive treatment approach that includes physical therapy, biologic and motion preservation techniques that are designed to specifically target and treat the source of a patient’s pain,” Dr. Mikhael said. “By limiting the use of powerful pain medication and avoiding invasive surgery, our patients can return to the pain-free, active lifestyle they enjoyed prior to their injury or condition.”
The program will provide each patient with a thorough evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for his or her specific malady. Each patient is encouraged to bring a coach (family member or friend) to attend educational sessions and assist in care and support pre- and -post operatively.
