Police arrest burglary suspect

Fountain Valley Police today arrested a Cypress man on suspicion of burglary, carrying a concealed weapon and other charges.

Police responded to the 11800 block of Wisteria Avenue after a suspicious person was reported knocking on doors and looking in windows at 12:45 a.m., Sgt. Tony Luce said.

When officers arrived, they determined two residential burglaries had just occurred. After searching the area, officers detained Alfredo Rodriguez, 35, of Cypress.

Officers discovered a loaded handgun, which was reported stolen. Rodriguez is a post-release Community Supervision probationer and a self-admitted gang member, Luce said.

He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition by a felon, carrying a concealed firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

Rodriguez was booked into Orange County Jail.
