Thursday is ‘Turn FV Orange Day’ at concert in the park

This Thursday is “Turn FV Orange Day” at the Fountain Valley Sports Park.

The city will celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the Host Town event welcoming the arrival of the Special Olympics athletes from The Netherlands.

A year ago, Fountain Valley painted the town orange (the official color of the Netherlands contingent) and held a four-day celebration in a sign of support for The Netherlands team prior to the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.

Members of the city’s Host Town Committee will be recognized at 5:45 p.m. prior to the 6 p.m. Concert in the Park. Committee members as well as local Special Olympics athletes will be on hand for the recognition.

The Fountain Valley Sports Park is at 16400 Brookhurst St.

Residents are invited to wear orange and show their continued support.
