No arrests at recent DUI checkpoint

A DUI/Drivers License checkpoint conducted by the Fountain Valley Police Department last Friday night resulted in the citation of one person for being an unlicensed driver, one person for possession of marijuana, but no arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol.  A total of 964 vehicles passed through the checkpoint from 9 p.m. until 3 a.m.

 

The checkpoint at the intersection of Brookhurst and Talbert was part of the city’s program to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved traffic collisions. It was  funded by  a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
