City Council to consider ban on all marijuana uses in the city

The Fountain Valley City Council will hold a public hearing at their regular meeting tonight on a new ordinance that would prohibit any type of commercial use of marijuana within the city. This includes the cultivation, transportation, distribution, and testing of marijuana within the city.

The public hearing tonight is the first reading of the ordinance by the City Council. Before the Council can adopt the ordinance the City Council would have to have a second reading of the ordinance at a future meeting.

The council will also hear the reading of an ordinance that will bring their landscaping maintenance and water usage into compliance with state regulations, and will consider their annual waiver of banner permit fees during the holiday period to help businesses within the city promote their business during the holiday.

The City Council meeting is in the council chambers at City Hall at 10200 Slater Avenue, Fountain Valley.
