OC Memorial Medical Center plans a series of events in November
Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in November will present several community events and classes. Registration is required for all events. The medical center is at 9920 Talbert Ave.

Fall Festival for Life: This popular event, slated for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, will include several complimentary screenings and activities to usher in autumn. Held at Orange Coast Memorial Patient Care Pavilion, 18111 Brookhurst St., the festival will include: “Ask the Doctors” booths, cancer education and information, clinical breast exams, prostate cancer screening (RSVP to (714) 378-7940), skin cancer screening, flu shots, hepatitis B and C screening, hospital tours, psoriasis lecture (noon- 1 p.m.) and a “Be the Match” donor registry. 2016 Medicare Essentials: This class, left by Matt McGuirk, will provide answers to those preparing for Medicare’s annual open enrollment period. Topics will include changes for 2016, transitioning from employer health coverage to Medicare, options available to Medicare beneficiaries and important deadlines. It will be held 2:30-4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the medical center. For educational purposes only; no health plan benefits will be discussed. Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited and reservations are required.
Talk with a Doc: Held monthly, “Talk with a Doc” sessions provide time to interact with physicians, ask questions about health topics of concern and get monthly health information in an informal format. November’s session will be held 9-10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 23 at The Center at Founders Village Senior & Community Center, 17967 Bushard St.
