City offers free sandbags to residents in preparations for heavy rains

Forecasters are predicting a heavier rainfall season this year than we have had in the past and the City of Fountain Valley is encouraging residents to be prepared for expected El Nino rainfalls. To help, the city is offering residents free sandbags that are available now to fill and have ready.
Residents can fill the sandbags in one of two locations, either at the city’s maintenance yard on Mt. Hermann Street, or on the service road at Mile Square Park. The service road in off Brookhurst Street by the tennis courts at the park. Residents that are using this free service will need to bring their own shovels to fill the sandbags.
