Police investigating early morning shooting

Fountain Valley Police are investigating the shooting of two men, which occurred around 12:40 a.m. Thursday in the 16300 block of Everest Circle.

Police Sgt. Tony Luce said police received a call of gunshots or fireworks in that neighborhood, but when they responded the area was quiet.

About 40 minutes later police received a call that two gunshot victims were in the emergency room at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.

The investigation revealed that four males were talking together on Everest Circle after they got off work. They were confronted by two males. Both suspects pointed handguns at the victims and told them to empty their pockets. Almost immediately, the suspects opened fire on the victims, striking two of them, police said.

The suspects fled the area on foot. The victims drove to the hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the crime scene and located evidence that a shooting had occurred on the street. Anybody who has any information regarding the shooting is encouraged to call the Fountain Valley Police Department at (714) 593-4485.
