Hyundai fun run will result in street closure
The Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K/10K charity fun run will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27 starting at the Fountain Valley Sports Park.
The event benefits Children's Hospital of Orange County, with funding for CHOC’s critical pediatric cancer research.
The 10K course begins at the Sports Park, 16400 Brookhurst St., and takes runners to Hyundai Motor America’s building on Talbert Avenue and then returns to the Sports Park.
To ensure the safety of the runners on the street, the northbound lane of Ward Street between Talbert Avenue and Warner Avenue will be closed from 5 a.m. and noon Sunday.
City officials apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and encourage residents to plan ahead in anticipation of possible delays that morning. Limited access will be available to the local community.
The city asks for the public’s cooperation and consideration during the event and reminds motorists to drive carefully through the race course and controlled areas.
