Water reclamation plant treatment may produce odors

Fountain Valley residents might notice some odors emanating from the Water Reclamation plant in Fountain Valley starting this Sunday. The odors would be due to an annual chemical treatment performance test and preventative maintenance being conducted by The Orange County Sanitation District.

The work will begin on Sunday, September 20 and go through Friday October 9. During this time chemical dosing stations that are used on a normal basis to reduce corrosion in the sewer system and minimize odors, will be shut off to conduct sampling.

Due to the nature of the maintenance, you may experience some odors.
