Pedestrian dies after being struck by cars
A 30-year-old Santa Ana man died of his injuries after being struck by two cars early Wednesday morning, Fountain Valley police reported.
Sgt. Steve DeSantis said the man was struck on Brookhurst Street at La Hacienda Avenue at 3:15 a.m.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries. Police identified the victim as Theodore Antolin of Santa Ana.
Police said their investigation revealed that Antolin crossed Brookhurst between La Hacienda and La Alameda outside of a marked crosswalk. A silver SUV traveling southbound on Brookhurst Street struck Antolin. The SUV did not stop and was last seen driving away southbound on Brookhurst, police said.
Seconds later, a white sedan traveling southbound on Brookhurst also struck Antolin lying in the roadway. The white sedan did not stop and was last seen southbound on Brookhurst Street.
