Library to host 'Friendsgiving' Nov. 23
Community members are invited to join Fountain Valley Library staff for Friendsgiving, an afternoon of games, classic Thanksgiving TV show episodes, pumpkin spice treats and apple cider. The event, set for 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, is open house-style, meaning attendees may drop in anytime during those hours. Community meeting planned to address proposed solution to homelessness
The cities of Fountain Valley, Garden Grove and Westminster are collaborating on the creation of a "navigation center" in an effort to address homelessness in the area. Local residents are invited to attend a community meeting, set for 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, to learn about the proposed Central Cities Navigation Center. The city of Fountain Valley and the West Orange County Veterans of Foreign Affairs Post and Auxiliary 9557 will host an in-person Veterans Day ceremony starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 in Veterans Park, 17635 Los Alamos St. The event will also be live streamed on the Fountain Valley Recreation & Community Services Department’s page. Sale of trees, wreaths to benefit Baron Football
The Fountain Valley High Baron Football program is selling Christmas trees, wreaths, and greenery through Nov. 14. The sale is a fundraiser to help raise money to remodel the weight room at the high school. Trees, various sizes of wreaths, evergreen swag and cedar garland are being sold. Thanksgiving luncheon set for Nov. 15

Huntington Beach-based nonprofit Robyne’s Nest, whose mission is to provide resources and support to at-risk and homeless students in the Huntington Beach Union High School District, is planning a December fundraiser with a goal of raising $130,000 in 30 days.
