Memorial Day ceremony is May 27
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9557 will hold its annual Memorial Day observance at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27 at Veterans Park next to the library, 17635 Los Alamos St. The ceremony will feature addresses by members of the VFW as well as city dignitaries. The FVHS Football Boosters and the Michael Musso Memorial Fund will host the 14th annual “Moose Invitational” Golf Tournament on Monday, June 24 at Mile Square Golf Course. The annual event helps raise money for the Fountain Valley High School Baron Football program and the Michael Musso Memorial Fund. Coastal Community Fellowship plans pancake fundraiser June 2
Coastal Community Fellowship will hold a pancake breakfast from 9-10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 2 to raise funds for the church’s youth members to attend summer camp at Hume Lake. Mayor Steve Nagel and Prem Balani, president of the Fountain Valley Community Foundation, will do the cooking. The menu consists of pancakes, eggs and sausage. A $5 donation is suggested. The West Coast will welcome its first campus of the national family of Let There Be Rock Schools on Saturday, May 18 in Fountain Valley. Mary Lou Heard garden tour set for May 4-5

The Mary Lou Memorial Garden Tour board of directors has set this year’s tour for the weekend of May 4-5, featuring 39 gardens from Long Beach to San Clemente, including several from Fountain Valley.
