City accepting applications, for boards, committees and commissions
The city of Fountain Valley is accepting applications from volunteers to sit on city committees, commissions and boards. Applications are available in the city clerk’s office at City Hall, 10200 Slater Ave., and online at www.fountainvalley.org. Appointments will be for two-year terms, unless otherwise stated. Candidates for appointment must be residents of Fountain Valley and 18 years of age or older. The deadline for application submission to the city clerk is 5 p.m. Dec. 2
Fountain Bowl ‘Joy to a Child’ toy drive under way
Fountain Bowl is holding its annual “Joy to a Child” toy drive this holiday season. Anyone wishing to participate can come in and pick an apple off Fountain Bowl’s tree, which will determine the age and sex of the child for whom he or she wishes to purchase a gift. Bring an unwrapped gift back to Fountain Bowl with the chosen apple and the donor will receive a free game of bowling for each toy he or she brings in. ‘Meet Him’ Christmas Crèche Festival is Nov. 30-Dec. 2
