Three schools in Fountain Valley are among 287 elementary schools in the state that have been honored by the state Distinguished Schools Program. Roch Courreges and William T. Newland elementary schools in the Fountain Valley School District and Ethan Allen Elementary School in the Garden Grove Unified School District have been honored by the state for making exceptional gains in implementing academic content and performance standards adopted by the state Board of Education.
